An Overview of Anodizing
Aluminum can be anodized for a number of specialized reasons to improve paint adhesion, structural use, and capacitance for electronic applications. During the process, an anodic film is formed and dissolved to create a porous coating with varying properties based on the strength and concentration of the acid as well as the operating temperature.
Anodic films are less likely to crack and peel from aging or wear. They can also be applied for cosmetic effects with coatings that can absorb colored dye or add interference effects to reflected light. While Anodic films are most commonly applied to protect aluminum alloys, processes also exist that allow these films to be applied to other common materials.
Benefits of Anodizing
Choosing an aluminum anodizing system for your project brings many benefits including:
- Improved Aesthetics
- Bonding
- Wear Resistance
- Corrosion Resistance
- Heat Dissapation
Corrosion can steal billions from businesses and organizations all over the world. This can be stopped with anodizing and other metal finishing systems to prevent loss of functionality and a diminished aesthetic.

Industries We Serve
Aerospace
Aerospace industries require top-quality, durable automated anodizing lines and other finishing systems. We were contracted by GKN Aerospace to design and supply an automated anodizing line that included waste treatment and automated covered tanks. QS can offer a flawless finish on all your parts with aluminum processes and other metal finishing options. Whatever your unique aerospace needs are, we are equipped to handle them!
Military
Our team has also been trusted with the design, manufacturing, and installation of various aluminum anodizing systems for military bases and operations. Quintessential Systems installed Type I, II, III anodizing, dying, phosphating, and black oxide in Camp Taji, Iraq. We were also entrusted with a project for Corpus Christi Army Depot to design, engineer, integrate, and install four fully-automated clean and degrease anodizing lines with automated hoists, process tank covers, and ultrasonic cleaning. Our work always complies with military specifications and we guarantee precision and expertise for each anodizing line and any other equipment or finishing systems you require.

Curious about how our process works?
Our Process for Designing & Installing Anodizing Systems
Stage 1: Discovery
Our process begins the moment you fill out the Project Request Form. At this point, it is important for you to include all relevant information related to your anodizing project. After you submit the form, a member of our team will respond by email and/or phone to collect more information and ask any pertinent questions about your project. We may or may not require an on-site meeting to evaluate your facility, identify the line layout, determine required materials, check environmental issues, and learn more about your needs.
Stage 2: Planning & Refining
Stage 3: Engineering & Pre-Production
Our engineers and designers will then team up to develop the final aluminum anodizing system design and drawings. Here, the client will provide any comments and give their approval before the raw materials are purchased to be delivered to your site promptly.
Stage 4: Installation & Training
QS works onsite to manage the installation of your anodizing system and we will ensure that all components of the system are operational and compliant before we finish. We will also take the time to provide in-depth training for your operators to get your system up and running right away.
